Dear Colleagues,
As we come to the close of an incredible 2024, I want to take a moment to reflect on the most memorable moments and achievements that have united us in the outgoing season.
This year, Kettlebell Sport was located and scheduled next to the Olympic Games in Paris, where our athletes fully demonstrated the beauty of the sport of kettlebells. The same bright flashes on the international sports horizon were competitions in new regions - the Asian Championship in Taiwan and the World Cup in the People's Republic of China (PRC), as well as the already traditional Pan American Championship in the USA and the Oceania Championship in Australia. The apotheosis of our joint work was the holding of two stages of the World Championship in the most beautiful places on our planet, which are rightfully considered one of the unofficial wonders of the world - in the vicinity of Lake Issyk-Kul in Kyrgyzstan and on the island of Corfu in Greece, where the charm of the local nature complemented the vivid impressions of the struggle on the sports platforms. The outstanding results, our athletes' skills, and the high viewing figures of our video broadcasts made this entire competition a truly inspiring demonstration of how unique and beautiful our sport is.
We understand and acknowledge all the difficulties and contradictions that have occurred in our work this year, but we remain steadfast in our commitment to the core ideals and values of sport, which should unite people, guided by the principles of equality, fairness, accessibility and inclusion, adhering to the rules of fair play and ensuring equal opportunities for all athletes, counteracting any influence of politics on Kettlebell Sport. All this is possible because all IUKL members share and support these values.
As we celebrate the successes of 2024, I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to each and every one of you - athletes, coaches, judges, members of the Board and Executive Committee, our national and international members, officials, partners and sponsors, volunteers, and supporters. Your dedication and love for Kettlebell Sport make us all special and our lives bright and memorable.
Looking ahead to 2025, we look forward to new meetings, new competitions, and new achievements. We will be happy to welcome our long-standing and loyal members and friends to our events, as well as new athletes who wish to become part of the IUKL sports family. Our team wishes you and your loved one’s joyful holiday and a happy, healthy, and prosperous New Year!
